Not looking at the stands

“My dad is here, and sometimes I can put unnecessary pressure on myself to play better when he is watching me. In reality, he just wants to see me compete, carry myself well, and improve.”

Today, I will get the opportunity to train with amazing coaches and players. The conditions today might be frustrating to play in. It will be very windy and there might be some rain in the morning. I want to make sure to enjoy playing today and have fun. When I played yesterday, I wasn't concerned about the score, and that led to me playing very well.

I have an obligation to my parents, my coaches, and my future self to work on enjoying playing despite the situation today. I will keep positive and strong body language today, and I will be energetic on court. I will also try my best to not look at my parents when I am playing. My dad is here, and sometimes I can put unnecessary pressure on myself to play better when he is watching me. In reality, he just wants to see me compete, carry myself well, and improve.

My coaching voice will remind me that enjoyment is what makes playing well possible for me. I can enjoy regardless of the situation. I am completely in control of my responses to situations. I will be a great problem solver today. It is perfect that the situations are not ideal so I can practice my problem-solving skills.
